今日はみんなで クリスマスケーキ作り をしました！🎄🍰

At HOPPA, we don’t choose activities just because they are fun, although having fun is very important. Each craft is carefully planned to support your child’s development, including their motor skills, creativity, and English language learning.

HOPPAからすま京都ホテルでは、楽しさだけを目的とした活動ではなく、子どもたちの手先の発達や創造力、英語学習につながっているかという視点を大切にしながら、日々の活動を計画しています。

First, we created the icing by using our handprints and placing them side by side across the cake. This activity helps children develop their gross motor skills while becoming more aware of their hand movements, pressure, and coordination. It also builds confidence as they use their whole hand to create something independently.

まずは、ケーキのアイシング作りからスタートしました。
子どもたちは手形を使い、横に並べながらスタンプしていきます。この活動では、手全体を使うことで粗大運動能力を育てるだけでなく、手の動かし方や力加減を意識する練習にもつながります。
また、自分の手で作品を完成させることで、達成感を味わい、自信を育むことにもつながっています。

Once we had our base, we made strawberries by using our fingers to create their shapes. Finger painting is a great way to strengthen finger muscles and improve hand–eye coordination, which are important skills for future writing. While painting, we also talked about colors of strawberries in English, helping students connect language with their actions.

次に、指を使っていちごの形を作りました。
フィンガーペイントは、指の筋力を育て、手と目の協調性を高めるとても効果的な活動です。これらの力は、これから鉛筆を持ったり、文字を書いたりするための大切な土台となります。

活動中は、色について英語でも声かけを行い、子どもたちが動きと言葉を自然に結びつけられるよう工夫しました。

To finish the strawberries, we used a small stick to add the seeds. This step supports fine motor control, which children need for skills such as holding pencils, using scissors, and managing buttons or zippers. いちごの

仕上げには、小さなスティックを使っていちごの種を描きました。
この工程では、微細運動（ファインモーター）をしっかりと使います。

微細運動は、鉛筆を正しく持つことをはじめ、はさみやボタン、チャックの開閉など、日常生活のさまざまな動作につながる大切な力です。

This was one of the students’ favorite parts, right after covering their hands in paint. They loved focusing on the small details and worked very carefully on their cakes. Look at them work hard to make a wonderful Christmas cake!

手に絵の具をつけることと同じくらい、この細かい作業も子どもたちのお気に入りでした。
とても集中しながら、ひとりひとりが一生懸命取り組む姿が見られました。

Of course, strawberries are wonderful, but every cake needs chocolate too! Adding extra decorations encourages creativity, decision-making, and independence as students choose how they would like their cake to look.

そして、いちごだけでは終わりません。
ケーキにはやっぱりチョコレートも欠かせませんよね。

自由にデコレーションを加えることで、子どもたちは「自分で考え、選び、表現する」楽しさを存分に味わいました。

★ 国際力

English teacherが園児と一体となって英語のお歌を歌ったり、絵本の読み聞かせをしたりして、英語を聞き話す素地を作るだけでなく異国文化への関心を育てます。

★ 学ぶ力（知育）

毎日一定時間お椅子に座って、先生のお話を聞くことから始めます。月齢に応じて、積木やフラッシュカードなど知育time専用の教材を用い、自然と湧き起こる知的好奇心をさらに広げます。

子どもたちが自ら考え行動する力を育みます。「自分のことは自分でやってみる」日々、保育士が子どもたちに寄り添い、小さな達成体験を積み重ねていきます。「できた」という喜びは、自己肯定感を生む原動力にもなります。
