How have you been?
It is spring here in Japan again.
The school year is wrapping up, but it does not mean our students are slowing down!
Especially not our 3rd year students.
HOPPAの学童保育として2016年に誕生したTHE HOPPA ROYAL KIDS。
去る3月24日、THE HOPPA ROYAL KIDSの小学3年生が、第29回 ちびっこイングリッシュスピーチコンテスト 本選に出場しました！！
第一次審査の通過率はなんと18.9%。
その難関を見事突破し、本選に出場！
さすがはROYALキッズです！！
今回は当日の様子を THE HOPPA ROYAL KIDS専属English teacherのアリー先生がお届けします。
Did you hear the news?!
This year our 3rd year student made it to the final round of the Chibikko English Speech competition.
This student, in particular, has been working very hard to pass the first round.
She had applied 5 times, and this was the first year to pass.
2歳から年長児までHOPPAからすま京都ホテルに、そして卒園後、小学1年生～3年生まで、THE HOPPA ROYAL KIDSに在籍するこちらのキッズ♡
今までの頑張りが実り、今回本選出場となりました！！
Being a third grader, the difficulty of speech increased.
The length, emotional arch, and speed needed was enough to discourage a normal third grader.
But not this ROYAL KID!
She read all of the available speeches and choose this one by herself.
今回、ROYAL キッズが挑戦したのは「英語暗唱規定過程部門」の「小学3・4・6の部」
そのスピーチの難易度も小学2年生の時と比べるとぐっと高くなり、発音や流暢さに加え、抑揚、感情表現なども求められます。
本選出場に向け、まずは課題文「Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf」「Protesting the Tax on Tea」「The Boy Who Cried Wolf」すべてに目を通しました。
そして、その中から「Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf」を自分で選び、アリー先生と練習を重ねました。（コチラを小学3年生でスピーチしたんです！すごいですね！！）
時にはこんな場所でも！！
THE HOPPA ROYAL KIDSに隣接するHOPPA本社事務所。
関社長・スタッフのみなさんが見守る中、堂々とスピーチを行い、みなからは「がんばってね！」との声援が送られました。
Appearing on the main stage was an achievement in itself.
I cannot be prouder with the courage it took this student.
She spoke clearly and had a strong voice.
This is not the first student from THE HOPPA ROYAL KIDS.

本番当日、大舞台で緊張したと思いますが、その堂々と発表する姿は立派なものでした。
よく頑張りました！

スピーチだけでなく、リーディングやスピーキング、リスニング力と、総合的な英語の力が身についているROYALキッズ。

We also have our first graduating class!!
It seems like just like yesterday we opened THE HOPPA ROYAL KIDS and now we have our first graduating class!!!
